THE DAVID | THE FACTS
A BUILDING ON THE MOVE
The modern and timeless-looking building that is now called The David, previously served as an office for IBM. What makes this building special is that it was designed in 2003 with a flexible application in mind: a circular design. In anticipation of a possible change in need and necessity. That is why the building is extremely suitable for transforming into a pleasant living environment. In The David you live in a sustainably built complex, because as many materials as possible were reused and no gas connection is needed anymore. There will be a total of 365 apartments in the building, as well as two commercial spaces on the ground floor. The David has it all: a parking garage with 201 parking spaces, individual storage rooms, an inner garden on the second floor and a terrace on the water feature that surrounds the building.
SUSTAINABLE: THE NEW STANDARD
Living in a sustainable home is a completely modern way of life. In addition to the fact that the building is extra sustainable through reuse of an existing architecture and circular construction, the individual homes have been set up with extra attention to sustainability. The houses and the water are heated through a connection to the district heating. You no longer need gas for cooking either, because you have access to an induction plate. In this way contribute to the reduction of fossil fuels. Good for the environment! In addition, modern homes provide an energy-efficient and comfortable living experience through good insulation and effective heating techniques. And you notice this not only in the comfortable and constant temperature in the home, but also in your monthly energy bill.
The David is more than just a building. Everything has been thought of. For example, the entrance to the parking garage is subtly masked by a green slope. The overall picture of this striking building with its surrounding water feature is inviting. On the ground floor there is space for, for example, a supermarket, various specialty shops, lunch bar or gym. An addition to your living environment, and for the entire Schinkelkwartier. Inside, the green experience continues with a beautifully landscaped courtyard on the second floor. Between the rustling of the grasses in this prairie garden, here is the space to quietly update your e-mails or have a chat with a neighbour. The service of The David goes beyond just a comfortable apartment with a complete luxury kitchen and bathroom: there will be a service app to take living in rental apartments to a new level of carefree. The exact details have not yet been determined. In any case, you will be kept informed about maintenance and you can submit a repair request. But also think of borrowing tools or picking up packages from your neighbour, delivering groceries, or booking modern mobility solutions such as electric shared cars or bicycles. This way you can focus on the next big thing in the start-up scene.
